[Backlog] Macau March 2011 p.2

Our last 2 days from the trip were spent on walking around the streets of Macau. Also, I had the chance to visit their version of The Venetian.

"Friendship Avenue" - I think that's what it meant :P

Nikon!
Grand Lisboa
Macau's economy depends largely on casinos, hence, the casino photos around the place. I noticed that some hotels also offer casinos. There're black cars with men in suit every now and then.

more photos after the cut! :)

Who wants ice cream?!

McDo!

Ruins of St. Paul facade
Originally built in 1602, the somewhat remains of the cathedral was said to be destroyed by fire. Only the facade remained. How it kept standing until now? They built some support behind it :P

Museo de Macau houses little men made of clay, portraying their past and culture.

Traditional wedding dress for the bride and groom

miniature buildings
Technology was also evident during their time.

In the afternoon...

Grand Canal Shoppes with canoe services

The whole floor consisted of over 330 stores of almost any type. The canoe rides are placed on four corners of the whole floor. Roaming around the shoppes is tiring indeed, and without paying attention, you might get lost :P [I once did, because I got engrossed in the lights and the cool architecture].
Below are the lines of casino. You'll see guards in black suits that'll check if you're of legal age. Legal or not, I don't think I'll dare to come in there :P

ZAIA Cirque du Soleil
I've always wanted to see at least one of Cirque du Soleil's show. I heard their acrobatics and performances were amazing, and truth be told, it was :D!  Every corner of the stage [by that I meant even the one on your back, above you, and on the sides] has movement. Every space is contained by an entertainer. There's a flying bicycle, floating skyscrapers, flying entertainers, racing motorcycles and more. Unfortunately, the attendants kept saying "no flash photography" over and over again even if I didn't turned on the flash. I later realized that they actually meant "taking pictures is not allowed". haha. so yeah, no more pictures from the show.

The next day, the last.

Since Macau is relatively a small place, you can actually get through the tourist spots in a few days. We went to Macau tower the next day, and spent the last few hours at the park.

amazing view from the Macau Tower

window/shopping

We went shopping through the stores. I bought my 50mm f 1.8 that time, and was so excited to use it.

Later that night was our flight back to Manila...
